It was a VERY nice and unusual weekend to have sunshine and warm weather so we couldn't resist to take advantage of it. I spent a lunch break getting online and trying to find something to do and came across the Visit England website that lists alot of major events going on and around. I saw that Canterbury was having a EuroFest to give people like us the opportunity to see what Kent has to offer. Apparently Kent (the name of the county) is known as the 'Garden of England' and boasts its variety of apples, wine, cobnuts, in addition to an assortment of arts and crafts. Although it wasn't a huge affair, it gave us an excuse to see some place new and get out and support England's economy!

Although we didn't make it to the cathedral for a tour, we did have a good walk around and see some old buildings, some interesting plaques, absorbed a little bit of history, and ate at a wonderful 'tavern' opened by famous chef Michael Caine. It was filled with a great atmosphere, lots of people, a few wandering college kids, and all in the day of one afternoon!

As fall whizzes by and winter approaches, we have probably made one of our last trips for the year. Of course we'll be looking forward to our BIG trip home to see all those familiar friends and families...and the newbie of the group! Hope you all are well and fighting off the dreaded flu and we can't wait to catch up!
