Today is the last Bank Holiday of the year until Christmas. So it’s going to be a long stretch of time before another break comes about...which is weird considering I’ve got a total of 25 days a year to take off of work. The history of the bank holiday begun through the observed days set aside for 33 saints and religious festivals. Of course this was changed by 1834 to include only 4 of the original 33 until legislation was passed in 1871 specifically outlining days off. Typically on this day all banks are closed, along with most small shops, service departments, government offices, and most businesses. So our long weekend is almost over and I have nothing interesting or important to report besides the fact that I had a lazy and unproductive 3-day weekend. We did go out on the town to celebrate (or at least say goodbye to) Tracey on Wednesday though. She is/was a co-worker of mine heading back to Australia. It was a great evening where all the ‘other-halves’ of the team finally met, a few ‘ice teas’ where clinked to say our goodbyes, and was followed by a late morning to the office the next day. It was a long night and the weekend off was a much needed time to recuperate. Matt on the other-hand has continued to work on his project now counting down his last month until he is finished (or so they say!). I’m sure it’ll be a tough road to go down, and I’m not anticipating the stress levels that will be rising on both ends of the equation, but when its all over we’ll have so much time and energy on our hands we won’t know what to do with it all!! We do both miss you all and hope all is well on the home-front and we will see you when we see you!
