It’s been an interesting holiday to say the least. With a hectic work week and not enough energy to hunt the city for American ingredients to cook a nice meal, we opted for a night on the town. Callie, my American co-worker and her husband, Martin, joined us for a classic burger at the local diner. It was definitely wasn’t the same as the whole Thanksgiving feast, but we walked away with bellies full of hamburgers, milk shakes, and fries!
Today was also quite strange as we were not inundated with crazy shoppers and busy streets as Christmas season hit awhile back. I took the day off to enjoy a little time with Matt. We ended up sleeping in late, having a nice little brunch, visiting the Wellcome Trust Science Exhibit, and heading out to the Tate Modern for a walkaround. The weather has been really cold and unfortunately we weren’t prepared for the cold and rushed back home. It was a nice time out though and we’ll hopefully have another weekend of fun.
As for the flat discussed earlier, there is still a little uncertainaty that we’ve gotten it. We did look at another flat not too far away from work and are considering it as an alternative. Matt will have a look with me tomorrow late morning and then we’ll go from there. Hopefully we’ll hear something back from the agency by tomorrow or Monday as its getting close to moving time....and we’re far from ready to get out of this flatshare we’ve been in for the last 14 months.
We’re happy to say that we will be returning home quite soon. Matt leaves London on the 10th and I will follow after tying up some strings at work on the 14th. There’s no real plans in site...just a little relaxation and visiting with all our family and friends. We’ll be coming back to the city on the 1st...which is also our 3 year anniversary!! Matt is currently still searching for the right job and will hopefully find something before returning home.
I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and we can’t wait to be home for the holiday season. Its going to be rough travelling alone separately, but I’m sure we’ll manage and hopefully will be able to see everyone on our list...whether or not you are naughty or nice...lol! Keep in touch and we love you all!!
