Today we headed out of the flat to enjoy some nice clear (but cold) weather. We headed to Spitalfields Market first and ventured through the crowds looking at lots of good pastries, hodge-podge of food and one-off clothes and jewelry from local artists and boutiques. There were tons of people as Sunday is ‘the day to go’ to this particular market, but we didn’t really see anything that we “needed” to have. We did stop and have some good ole bar-b-que at a little “Arkansas Cafe” within the market. It wasn’t the best we’ve had of course, but it was a nice change from the norm.
We then made it to Brick Lane (above) which was a surprising street market that doesn’t seem to be controlled very well. Basically all sorts of strange people had sheets laid on the ground with a mixture of ‘trash’ that was probably dug up from dumpsters and their own closet. We even found a couple that was trying to “make their luggage lighter” by selling off some of their possessions before returning to who knows where. We ended up walking around though and appreciating the nicer weather, but were well worn out by the time we made it home.
With Matt ‘officially’ out of school, we hope to have a couple of more outings as the month continues. We do miss all of you and hope that everything is going well. We’re a little homesick right now, and dread not being able to go home this month, but the way things are going Christmas will be here before we know it!! Love you all and we hope to hear from yall soon!
