Today we had the unexpected walk through Putney down along the Thames. The idea surfaced from my old co-worker and her husband and we were game to enjoy one of the few days of sunshine we've had in the last couple of months. They brought their two small dogs along for the walk and it was hilarious seeing the attention they received the entire way.

Matt & I got up at a descent hour and had a nice quick breakfast and then bundled up as the sunshine didn't always mean that it was nice and toasty outside. We met Callie & Martin and their dogs on the river and began a nice little walk through. It was impressive to see how many people were out and about despite it being quite cold and of course a slight breeze. We did come across a rowing competition and it was great to see all the boats.

Further down the river towards Barnes we passed rowing club after club and loads of participants and their families either finishing their races, enjoying the bbqs on the terrace or breaking down their boats for transport. We stopped in one pub and had a drink, and avoided the 40 minute wait on food, only to go to another where lunch service was no more...of course by this time it was 4pm!! We hopped on a bus to head home, made a quick late lunch/early dinner, and kicked off our walking shoes to enjoy the evening.
